CHIROPRACTOR

BSc (Chiro) B.Chiro(Hons)

Hi everyone! I’m the owner/operator of Padbury Chiropractic. After 10 years of working in busy city and rural practices, I decided to start my own clinic using an evidence based approach to treat conditions of the joints and muscles. Padbury Chiropractic is a home-based clinic because I wanted to devote more time to each patient without increasing your costs.

A bit more about me; I graduated with honours in a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Chiropractic degree from Murdoch University. Since finishing university, I have completed further studies in paediatrics, dry needling/acupuncture and clinical yoga. I have a special interest in sports chiropractic, and the diagnosis of orthopaedic and neurological syndromes.

In my free time, I'm an avid reader and love spending time with my husband, our son's Sullivan and Fergus; and our pup Sooty. I love yoga and long walks on the beach (preferably a dog beach). I can't wait to meet you all at the clinic!

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I expect?

There will be some general paperwork to complete when you first arrive at the clinic. Please arrive ten minutes early for completion. You will then be asked a few questions pertaining to your complaints. Based on these questions, a thorough physical examination will be conducted in which I perform specialised orthopaedic and neurological tests to determine your diagnosis. Following your diagnosis, you will receive tailored treatments specifically for you, to reduce your pain and discomfort as quickly as possible. This may include chiropractic adjustments, mobilisation techniques, soft tissue therapies and home exercises/advice. After the initial appointment it is recommended to do a follow up appointment to discuss whether your symptoms are better, worse or the same, which will deliver a clearer idea about your projected outcome.

How much are the appointments?

The initial appointment is $95 for 50 minutes. After your initial appointment the standard appointment will be $68 for 30 minutes. There are concession prices for seniors, students and children under 16. If you have Private Health Insurance you may be eligible for a rebate.

Do I need a referral?
No, you do not need a referral from a GP before visiting a chiropractor. Click 'Book Online' to arrange your appointment.

Do you take X-rays?

Not often. At Padbury Chiropractic we only take X-rays if it is clinically relevant to your case. If imaging is required, we can refer you for bulk billed spinal x-rays or we can refer you to a GP for ultrasound/CT imaging. MRI's we can directly refer at cost to the patient.

Is chiropractic safe?
As with any treatment for musculoskeletal pain there is an element of risk associated, however the risk of significant damage is very small. Chiropractors are university trained professionals who have received a five-year degree to care for their patients using safe, gentle and evidence based techniques.

What kind of education and training do chiropractors have?
To become an AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) registered chiropractor in Australia you must have studied an accredited five-year chiropractic degree conducted at a recognised university within Australia.

Is chiropractic covered by private health insurance?
Yes. Most private health insurance companies recognise the benefits of chiropractic and provide rebates to their members. At Padbury Chiropractic we also offer HICAPS which means you can claim back at the time of payment. How much you can claim back depends on your type of cover, please check with your insurance provider.
